De-streamed Grade 9 Science
Educators Tigist Amdemichael (TDSB, York University) and Julie Vander Meij (TDSB) discuss how teachers can plan, assess and instruct using the new de-streamed grade 9 science course. They explore how instruction and assessment can be more effective and rewarding—for teachers and students—by building positive and identity-affirming relationships within the classroom community. Special consideration is given to approaches where existing lessons and unit plans are analyzed to make them more inclusive.
This workshop explores new topics and builds upon those covered in De-streamed Grade 9 Science: Designing for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice.
