Visit us at Harbourfront Centre to enjoy one of the Science Centre’s most popular experiences—KidSpark. Discover the incredible world of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) through hands-on exhibits in three themed areas—Town & Country, The Health Hub and The Pond—that will inspire lots of playful learning.

School groups are eligible for a special rate of $120 per class (up to 30 students). This special rate is available during the regular school calendar year, not including weekends and holidays. 

To qualify, your class must represent:

  • A full-time elementary or secondary school in Canada that is registered with your province’s Ministry of Education,
    OR
  • A childcare centre licensed by Ontario’s Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services

Town & Country

Fill up your shopping cart with healthy foods at the supermarket, learn about building and mechanics in the construction area.

The Health Hub

Visit a pretend vet clinic to care for a stuffed animal, review x-rays and examine a model skeleton in a pretend doctor’s office, or role-play as a first responder.

Hop into a boat for a pretend fishing trip, listen to the sounds of Ontario wildlife, or take a closer look at insects and butterflies in the research station.

School Field Trip FAQs

How long should I plan my field trip for?
The overall experience at Harbourfront Centre takes approximately 2 hours. We recommend groups plan for up to 2 hours to fully explore the exhibits and participate in activities at a comfortable pace.

Is bus parking available?
School bus parking is not available onsite at Harboufront Centre. Please visit Motor Coach and Bus Parking Information for Toronto for information on bus parking

Where is the Group Entrance?
If you have booked a field trip, please enter the Experience space through the main Harbourfront Centre entrance via the bus drop-off loop.

How many adults can accompany a school group for free?
One adult for every 10 students is required. A maximum of one adult for every two students can accompany a school group for free. If you have more than that ratio, you will need to pay the regular admission fee for any additional adult. 

Are there lockers?
There are no lockers available, but coat racks are available.

Can we bring food and drinks?
Please do not bring food or drinks into the exhibit space. Lunch tables iswith a capacity of 36 students are available for lunch and snack breaks outside KidSpark, near the washrooms and along the windows in Harbourfront Centre. Please note that tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis in 30-minute time slots. Students must be supervised during this time.   


How is payment facilitated?
Please check your confirmation email and bring payment for the full amount on the day of your visit. Accepted methods of payment include credit card, P-card, valid PO (TDSB only), or cash.

What’s the cancellation and booking modification policy?
Once your booking is confirmed, you must notify us of any cancellations or changes by 4 p.m. on the Wednesday one week before your visit date. School rates are based on a flat rate of $120 for up to 30 students. Increases in student numbers may incur an additional cost and will be subject to availability.

Is KidSpark wheelchair accessible? 
Yes, the exhibition space, including washrooms, is wheelchair accessible. 

Are field trips self-guided? 
Yes, school field trips are self-guided. We recommend approximately 2 hours to explore the exhibits and participate in activities.
