TORONTO (March 13, 2020) - The Ontario Science Centre will be closing temporarily to visitors, effective tomorrow.
This decision comes as public health officials are taking unprecedented actions to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus, including recommendations for social distancing and the cancellation of any large gatherings.
There is no known exposure to COVID-19 at the Ontario Science Centre. With the highly interactive nature of exhibits and programs, the Science Centre has decided to close temporarily to protect the health and safety of staff and visitors and to help reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 in the community.
That means special events, including March Break camps and special programming for March Break, are cancelled. We will work with clients to reschedule facility rental bookings.
At this time, we will remain closed through Sunday, April 5, aligning with the closure of all publicly funded elementary and secondary schools in the province. We will continue to monitor the situation, and we look forward to announcing when we will welcome visitors to the Science Centre again. In the meantime, please check www.OntarioScienceCentre.ca for updates.
